ReportSafe® and SAP™ |
| ReportSafe® seamlessly interfaces with all the SAP™ R/3 platforms, effectively creating a centralized repository, historical archive, and base for Web distribution.
Reports can conveniently be sent from SAP R/3 to ReportSafe for distribution and archiving without any changes to the underlying applications.
SAP R/3 supports printing from the different applications within it. Different printers can be defined for different applications. Depending upon printer attachment requirements, two different types of connections can be established: |

Local Connection (Link Type L): The Spool Work Process (output system) transfers data to the Spooler or Print Manager in the same host system. The Local Connection is the fastest and most reliable type of link. |

Remote Connection (Link Type U - TCP/IP): The Spool Work Process (output system) transfers data over the network to the Spooler or Print Manager of another host system. The printout from Personal Computers (Windows® 3.1/3.11, Windows® 95/98/Me, IBM OS/2®, Windows® NT/2000/XP without the SAP R/3 Instance) can only be transmitted across this type of link. |
| ReportSafe also maintains the security information when accepting and processing output. This avoids duplicate security setup with SAP as well as all your other applications. Additionally, ReportSafe gives you the option to change security, if required (e.g., regrouping the distribution of reports across locations or even different systems). A GroupID can be defined and associated with one or more UserIDs. A Group normally consists of the Users in the same organization, such as a department. Grouping allows all Users with the same GroupID access to all the Reports in that Group.
